This course is designed to develop the minimum skills and knowledge for cavern diving and overhead environment diving within the limits of light penetration. The Cenotes of Mexico provide a great place to start the journey to becoming a cave diver. At Mexico Underground our cavern course is only taught by experienced full cave instructors, as its best to mentored by someone with an in-depth knowledge of cave diving at this level.

The cavern diver course in not intended to provide instruction for cave diving environments unless you choose to combine the introduction to cave class and full class over a 9-10 day extended period. The objective of this course is to train divers in the proper planning, procedures, techniques and hazards of cavern diving. Including cave control, balance & Buoyancy, finning techniques, line and reel use, technical back mount or Sidemount or rebreather configuration and setup, basic drills for loss of visibility and loss of line are all coved in our curriculum.

At Mexico Underground we run the cavern course over 3 days, 6 days if combined with Intro Cave diver and 9 day if you am to certify as a TDI Full Cave diver.

The class fee includes all logistics and training materials, we highly recommend purchasing and owning your own equipment for cave diving but can rent cave equipment to students if required for use during your cavern and cave training.
